Our aim is to make your experience with us as easy and welcoming as possible. New patients joining Wigram & Ware Opticians will be impressed with the level of service we provide.

During your time with us the optometrist will examine your eyes using a variety of test procedures which are based on a professional evaluation of your visual requirements. At the end of the examination you are given a copy of your optical prescription with an explanation of the findings and recommended treatments for your vision and ocular health. We are always pleased to answer any questions that you might have about the examination.

We begin by discussing your health and vision history, including any concerns or symptoms. This helps us tailor the examination to your needs, ensuring we address all your eye care requirements.
Using a combination of professional expertise and diagnostic technology, we’ll check the health of your eyes and look for any signs of abnormalities and other medical conditions.
After the examination, we’ll discuss our findings with you, answer any questions, and provide personalised recommendations. This ensures you fully understand your eye health and the steps needed to maintain or improve it.
Even if there are no apparent difficulties with your vision, problems may develop gradually over time and so go unnoticed.
Regular eye examinations are important to ensure that problems with the eyes and vision are detected. Also, an eye examination can uncover a number of general health problems.
If you haven't had an eye examination within the last two years, we recommend you call us now for an appointment. We will examine your eyes thoroughly and answer any questions you might have about your vision.

OCT is an innovative imaging technique used to obtain high resolution 3D images of your retina.
We have invested in the very latest technology and can study your eyes with incredible detail allowing early detection, diagnosis and monitoring of Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Detachments and much more.
Optomap imaging is an ultra-wide scan that allows our Optometrist to see significantly more of the back of the eye (the retina). An Optomap captures 82% of the retina compared to 15% with more traditional cameras.
When looking at the retina our Optometrist can detect signs of many serious eye conditions, including macular degeneration, glaucoma and cancers of the eye.
