Eye Examination Procedure
During your time with us the optometrist will examine your eyes using a variety of test procedures which are based on a professional evaluation of your visual requirements.
These tests will include:
At the end of the examination you are given a copy of your optical prescription with an explanation of the findings and recommended treatments for your vision and ocular health. We are always pleased to answer any questions that you might have about the examination.
The time it takes to perform an eye examination varies from patient to patient but is usually between 30 and 40 minutes.

Even if there are no apparent difficulties with your vision, problems may develop gradually over time and so go unnoticed.
Regular eye examinations are important to ensure that problems with the eyes and vision are detected. Also an eye examination can uncover a number of general health problems.
If you haven't had an eye examination within the last two years, we recommend you call us now for an appointment. We will examine your eyes thoroughly and answer any questions you might have about your vision.

Our fantastic service is more than just an eye test, it tests your health. An OCT scan allows us to see beneath the surface of the back of your eye (the retina) which allows us to detect any sign of problems or disease.
We have invested in the very latest technology and can study your eyes with incredible detail allowing early detection, diagnosis and monitoring of Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Detachments and much more.

Optomap Retinal Imaging
Using the latest technology to ensure your eye examination is more comprehensive than ever.
Optomap imaging is an ultra-wide scan that allows our Optometrist to see significantly more of the back of the eye (the retina). An Optomap captures 82% of the retina compared to 15% with more traditional cameras.
When looking at the retina our Optometrist can detect signs of many serious eye conditions, including macular degeneration, glaucoma and cancers of the eye.
It’s also possible for our optometrist to see signs of problems with your general health, such as diabetes or high blood pressure. Optomap imaging makes it easier to detect any potential problems early and treat them.

NHS Eye Examinations
Both Private and NHS Eye Examinations are available.
Both private and NHS examinations are available to our patients. In addition some NHS patients are also entitled to help towards the cost of glasses and contact lenses.
